The Central American Community came out by the thousands to celebrate “Fiestas Patrias” the independence parade and festival of five Central American countries in September. Goya’s parade entry was the perfect vehicle to promote the Goya Gives-Can Do initiative. The Goya parade float featured the national Costa Rica flower in honor of this year’s country of honor, as well as iconic symbols of most Latino countries, a placita kiosk and church facades. Riding the float were Grand Marshal and soccer star, Luis Gabelo Conejo, Distinguished Citizen from Panama, Patricia de Leon; and the Queens of Costa Rica, Honduras and El Salvador. Tropical music and shout outs were by the band Sonora Karnaval.
